Do you have a cancellation policy?
We have a cancellation policy in place to ensure fairness and respect for all our practice members and staff. Please note that our initial appointment cancellations are subject to a different policy than those for continuing care. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask that you notify us in advance to avoid any fees. For more details, please refer to our full cancellation policy, which outlines the specific guidelines for both initial and ongoing appointments. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an efficient schedule.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor or receive shockwave therapy?
No, you do not need a referral to schedule an appointment for chiropractic care or shockwave therapy. You can directly book a consultation or treatment with Dr. Leslie.
-
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required will depend on your specific condition, goals, and treatment plan. For chiropractic care, individuals seeking wellness care typically visit once a week to once a month. However, more acute injuries may necessitate multiple sessions per week for a few weeks to support recovery.
For shockwave therapy, many patients see improvement after 6-12 sessions, with continued progress over 4–8 weeks as tissues heal. Dr. Leslie will recommend an appropriate course of treatment after a thorough review of your history and condition.
-
What is your re-evaluation policy if I haven’t received care in a while?
If a practice member has not been seen for over one year, a re-evaluation may be required before any new treatment or services are provided. This helps us assess any changes in your health or condition and ensures that we create the most effective and appropriate treatment plan. Please review our full re-evaluation policy for more details.
-
Can I combine chiropractic care with shockwave therapy?
Yes, both chiropractic care and shockwave therapy complement each other and can often be combined for enhanced results. Chiropractic adjustments can restore spinal alignment, reduce nerve pressure, improve joint mobility, and alleviate pain, while shockwave therapy focuses on increasing blood circulation, promoting cellular repair, and breaking down calcifications, both ultimately stimulating the body’s natural healing process.
-
How can I prepare for my first visit?
If available, please bring any imaging taken within the last year. To ensure the doctor has time to review your information, please fill out any necessary paperwork in advance or arrive 30 minutes early for your appointment. We strive to make your first visit as easeful as possible, so give us a call if you have any questions or concerns. Additionally, we recommend preparing a list of questions you want to make sure are addressed during your visit.
-
What should I wear to my appointment?
For chiropractic care, we recommend comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. For shockwave therapy, the affected area may need to be exposed, so please wear clothing that allows easy access to that area. Coming directly from work or another place? No worries! We have clothing available for you to change into if needed for your convenience.
-
Will chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments are generally not painful. Most people experience a sense of relief after the adjustment. Some may feel mild discomfort or soreness for a short time after the first few treatments, especially if they are addressing long-standing issues, but this usually subsides quickly.
-
Is shockwave therapy painful?
Shockwave therapy can cause some discomfort during the treatment, particularly in areas of chronic pain or injury. However, the sensation is typically brief and subsides shortly after the treatment. The intensity of the treatment can be adjusted as needed at any time during your session based on your comfort level.
-
Can I receive chiropractic care or shockwave therapy if I am pregnant?
Chiropractic care can be safe during pregnancy, especially if performed by a chiropractor experienced in working with pregnant patients. Dr. Leslie is certified in the Webster Technique, which specializes in supporting expectant mothers and addressing pregnancy-related discomfort. As for shockwave therapy, it is not currently recommended for pregnant individuals.
-
Are there any circumstances or conditions where shockwave therapy is not recommended?
Shockwave therapy is unsuitable in the following circumstances:
• If you are pregnant
• If you have a blood clotting disorder (including thrombosis)
• If you are taking oral anti-coagulants
• If you have received a steroid injection within the past 6 weeks
• If you have a pacemaker
• If tumors are present at the treatment site
• If you have an infection or skin abrasion at the treatment site
• If you are under 18 (except for the treatment of Osgood-Schlatter disease)
• If the treatment site is located over an air-filled area, such as the lungs or intestines
This list is not exhaustive, and a thorough assessment is always required. Based on our experience, certain treatments, conditions, and individual histories may respond differently, and a tailored evaluation will help determine the suitability of shockwave therapy.
-
Is chiropractic care suitable for children?
Yes, chiropractic care can be safe and beneficial for children. Pediatric chiropractic treatments are generally gentle and tailored to the child’s age and size. They can help with conditions like growing pains, posture issues, and other musculoskeletal concerns. We also see babies on the day of birth and beyond, offering support for optimal development and addressing any concerns as they grow. Dr. Leslie has additional training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), ensuring specialized care for both expectant mothers and children.
